Universal College Of Learning (UCOL) Block 9 Lighting Upgrade

Following a successful Interact Pro upgrade in UCOL’s Block 2, NuGreen and Aotea National Services were engaged to address legacy lighting in Block 19 — home to culinary arts and early childhood faculties. The existing system had deteriorated significantly, with failed lamps, incorrect mounting, and outdated luminaires creating poor conditions throughout. These deficiencies impacted teaching effectiveness and student experience, making a comprehensive upgrade a priority.

NuGreen redesigned the lighting infrastructure, standardising fixture types to create a cohesive look and feel across the building. The upgrade was paired with Interact Pro smart control functionality, enabling personalised settings and optimised performance. Staff now manage lighting via a phone-based app, with custom scenes — including tailored ambiance in the culinary restaurant — enhancing the learning environment. The fully configurable system future-proofs UCOL as teaching needs evolve.
