Fletcher Steel -Northern Region Distribution Centre

Fletchers Northern Region Distribution Centre is the primary Auckland hub for Fletcher Steel, handling commercial steel dispatch including rebar, girders, and heavy steel products. The site operates large-capacity gantry cranes on a 24/5 schedule, making lighting task-critical to operator safety. The ageing system was delivering inadequate, non-uniform illumination, and multiple work areas failed to meet compliance standards – a safety and operational risk requiring urgent resolution.

NuGreen proposed a full LED luminaire replacement, specifying a long-life solution providing 10 years of maintenance-free operation. Existing luminaire positions were retained as they were already optimally located. NuGreen coordinated closely with site stakeholders to manage contractor access, equipment delivery, and where necessary the temporary movement of stock — all while maintaining the continuous 24/5 operation throughout the upgrade.
