Background

224 Neilson Street, Onehunga is an industrial Greenfield development comprising two warehouses designed to meet ambitious sustainability targets. Developer Argosy Property — a publicly listed company with a $1.4 billion portfolio — has a strategic objective to achieve 5- and 6-Star Green Star ratings across their assets. Solar energy systems were a critical requirement for meeting Green Star Industrial certification across both warehouses on this site.

NuGreen Solution

NuGreen was engaged to design and deliver solar systems capable of fully supporting Green Star certification requirements. Complete end-to-end solar engineering, documentation, and installation services were provided, ensuring every element met the strict Green Star Industrial criteria. Warehouse A received a 480 kW system designed with allowance for future battery integration; Warehouse B received a 228 kW system. Both were engineered to offset base-load energy requirements.

The Results
  • 6-Star Green Star rating successfully achieved across the development.
  • Warehouse A: 480 kW system – 919,200 kWh saved per annum.
  • Warehouse B: 228 kW system – 286,800 kWh saved per annum.
  • Combined annual cost savings of $60,228 achieved.

NuGreen supported Argosy with the design and delivery of solar assets across the two warehouses at our new cornerstone development – 224 Neilson Street. The two systems generate a net positive energy contribution for us and supported the awarding of Green Star 6 to the buildings. The systems were designed well, installed with great workmanship and since being livened are outperforming initial generation forecasts. All in all, the solar provided a positive impact to the development.
