Stride – 16 Wickham Street, Hamilton

16 Wickham Street is a new design-build development in Auckland, delivered by NZ Strong and developed by Stride Property for tenant Wattyl. The building was designed to meet Green Star 5 certification, with sustainability embedded across all aspects of construction and operation.

NuGreen Energy Solutions was engaged to design and deliver the solar energy system that would contribute to the project’s Green Star 5 rating. Working closely with Stride and NZ Strong, NuGreen provided full end-to-end solar design, engineering, and installation services.

The resulting system consists of:

• 210 Trina Solar panels mounted on the rooftop

• 110 kW SMA inverter integrated into the site’s main switchboard (MSB)

This system was designed to offset the building’s base load operating requirements, supporting energy efficiency and helping the project achieve its targeted sustainability outcomes.

NuGreen successfully delivered the solar system on time and on budget, aligning with the overall build programme and compliance requirements. The installation now supplies clean, renewable energy directly to the site, lowering operational carbon emissions and helping Stride Property and Wattyl meet their environmental performance goals.
