NuGreen Solutions NZ was formed in January 2015 as part of a joint venture between Nugreen Australia, JA Russell Ltd and senior management. Today JA Russell Ltd have more than 76 branches across New Zealand and provide a key part in the ongoing warranties that NuGreen have across the Country. Nugreen Australia were purchased in 2018 by the Plenary Group who operate in Canada, USA and Australia and are one of the worlds biggest PPP businesses with over $42bn across their various funds.


Since its inception NuGreen have delivered in excess of 311 projects right across New Zealand and curently have projects ongoing as far south as Bluff and as far north as Whangarei. We have good mix of private and public clients that include NZSX listed companies, private entities as well as councils. At board level NuGreen is governed by senior Plenary  and JA Russell executives in addition to external industry leaders. Our representation covers all of the country with internal support based from our support office in Auckland. The team has grown 400% over the last 2 years to support our growth and ambition.

Our Approach

The Company was formed in 2015 with a view to delivering end to end energy efficiency upgrades to existing infrastructure. The opportunity for businesses in New Zealand to reduce their carbon footprint, energy costs and overall enviromental impact were the key drivers in forming the company. 


Our key points of difference are: 


  • We believe that a product agnostic approach provides our clients with the best opportunity to have "best in class" outcomes rather than aligning ourselves to one or two manufacturers. NuGreen have strategic relationships with all of the major global and local manufacturers that enable us to deliver these solutions.


  • Nugreen also enjoy partnerships with most of the leading lenders in New Zealand that enable us to provide different funding options when capital isn't available. These can be financed on balance sheet or we have a unique offer known as "Energy as a service", whereby the client has a monthly fee based on an agreed outcome delivery typically over a 5 to 10 year period.                 


  • The final point of difference that Nugreen pride itself on is our ongoing service level agreements that allow the client to have little or no maintainence including hardware and labour.  This allows the client to bank or re allocate its repairs and maintainence budget over the agreed period of time which is typically 5 or 7 years.
